  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) Walnuts or pecans add a crunchy texture
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation

  • Wash and core the apples, then cut them into quarters or slices based on preference.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, melted butter, and a pinch of salt; mix until it forms a paste.
  • Coat the apple slices with the mixture, ensuring each piece is covered. If using nuts, add them now.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry the apples for about 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Check for doneness; apples should be tender. If needed, continue air frying in 2-minute intervals.
  • Once done, remove apples and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with ice cream, over oatmeal, or as a yogurt parfait. Experiment with toppings like granola, maple syrup, or coconut for extra flavor.
