  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Spoon into measuring cup to avoid packing
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness and structure
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure it's at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature preferred
  • ½ cup milk Use any milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Check expiration for effective rising
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon salt Enhances flavor

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Lightly grease your air fryer basket or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Pour the batter into the basket, spreading it evenly.

Cooking

  • Cook in the air fryer for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once done, remove the cake from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve it plain, with fresh fruit, or drizzle with a glaze. For special occasions, dust with powdered sugar or add sprinkles. Can be paired with coffee or tea.
