Preparation

  • Pat the chicken legs dry with paper towels to achieve crispier skin.
  • In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, thyme, and oregano. Stir until well blended.
  • Add the chicken legs to the bowl, tossing to ensure they are evenly coated in the spice mixture.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the chicken legs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring there is some space between them.

Cooking

  • Cook the chicken legs for 25 to 30 minutes, turning them halfway through. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; the internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

Serving

  • Remove the chicken legs from the air fryer and let them sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, dry the chicken legs thoroughly before seasoning. Marinating for a few hours can enhance flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days, or freeze for up to three months.
