Ingredients
  

For the Coating

  • 1 pound chicken breast, sliced into strips Boneless, skinless chicken breasts work best.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour You can substitute with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.
  • 2 large eggs Beaten until smooth for binding.
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (preferably panko) Panko gives an extra crunch.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Cooking spray or olive oil for spraying Prevents sticking in the air fryer.

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.
  • Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl, adding more seasoning if desired.
  • Coat each chicken strip in flour mixture, then dip it in egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Spritz the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush lightly with olive oil.
  • Place the coated chicken strips in a single layer in the basket without overcrowding.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C).
  • Remove the strips and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a more flavorful experience, marinate chicken strips in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs for at least 30 minutes before coating. Experiment with spices to match your family's preferences.
