  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes, tips removed if desired
  • 1 tablespoon aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) Optional seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika) For additional flavor
  • Olive oil or avocado oil spray For coating the air fryer basket

  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce or honey garlic sauce For tossing the wings

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken wings dry using paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine baking powder, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Sprinkle the mixture over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive or avocado oil.
  • Place the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer in the basket.

Cooking

  • Cook the wings for 10 minutes, then flip or shake the basket.
  • Continue cooking for an additional 8-10 minutes until golden brown and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Toss cooked wings in your preferred sauce or serve plain for dipping.

Notes

To retain crispiness, store leftovers in an airtight container. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
