Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Icing Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For icing
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk For icing

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined, creating a dough.
  • Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

Filling and Rolling

  • Spread softened butter over the rolled-out dough. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon and brown sugar evenly over the butter.
  • Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seam to seal it.
  • Cut the log into 1-inch wide slices to form individual rolls.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the cinnamon rolls in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch. You may need to work in batches.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the rolls turn golden brown and cooked through.
  • While the rolls cook, mix powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl to make the icing.
  • Once cooked, remove the rolls from the air fryer and drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

For serving, drizzle the sweet icing generously and consider topping with nuts or extra cinnamon. They pair well with coffee or tea. To store, keep in an airtight container; they will stay fresh at room temperature for two days.
