Ingredients

Crab Cake Mixture

  • 1 pound lump crab meat, drained and picked through Use high-quality crab meat.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray For air frying

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Mix until all ingredients are well combined without breaking up the crab meat too much.
  • Stir in the green onions, red bell pepper, parsley, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
  • Form the mixture into crab cakes, about 2-3 inches in diameter, and place them on a plate lined with parchment paper. You should get about 8-10 cakes, depending on the size.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the crab cakes in the basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch each other to ensure even cooking. You may need to cook them in batches.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Carefully remove the crab cakes from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For best results, chill the formed crab cakes in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before air frying. Consider serving with a variety of dipping sauces, lemon wedges, or a fresh salad.
