  • 1 teaspoon Dried herbs (such as oregano, basil, or thyme) Experiment with different herbs for unique flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper Optional for added spice.

Preparation

  • Cut your bread into uniform cubes for even cooking.
  • In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil or melted butter and toss to coat evenly.
  • Sprinkle in garlic powder, dried herbs, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to ensure each cube is seasoned.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the seasoned bread cubes to the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook the croutons for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even browning.
  • Keep an eye on them as cooking time can vary. Look for a rich, golden-brown color.
  • Once done, remove the croutons from the fryer and let them cool completely.

Notes

Store cooled croutons in an airtight container for up to two weeks. You can also freeze them for several months. Reheat in the air fryer or oven to restore crispiness.
