Preparation

  • Wash and peel the russet potatoes, removing any blemishes, then cut them into thin strips.
  • Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Drain and pat the potato strips dry with a towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the seasoned potato strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook the fries at 400°F (200°C) for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove the fries from the air fryer and serve hot.

Notes

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce. For added flavor, consider spices like garlic powder or chili powder. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
