  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can be adjusted based on preference.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Adds depth to flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Provides a subtle smokiness.
  • Salt to taste Salt Season to your preference.
  • Pepper to taste Pepper Season to your preference.
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional for extra heat.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Wash the fresh okra thoroughly and trim the ends.
  • Slice the okra in half to encourage quicker cooking.
  • In a large bowl, combine the halved okra with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add cayenne pepper if desired.
  • Toss the okra until it is evenly coated with the seasoning.

Cooking

  • Place the seasoned okra in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd it.
  • Fry the okra for about 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Remove the okra once it becomes golden brown and crispy, and serve hot.

Notes

Serve as a side dish with grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, or fish. Can also be served with a dipping sauce or added to salads. For better results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and cook in batches if necessary.
