Preparation

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly using cold water.
  • Slice the potatoes thinly, approximately 1/8 inch thick.
  • Soak the potato slices in cold water for 30 minutes.
  • Drain and pat the potato slices dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, adding salt and any desired spices.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).

Cooking

  • Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for approximately 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Monitor closely towards the end to ensure they turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer the chips to a plate, sprinkling additional salt or seasonings while hot.

Notes

Store leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. To restore crispiness, reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes. For variations, consider sweet potato chips, herbed chips, or cheesy chips.
