Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp

  • 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined Look for shrimp that smells briny but not fishy.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Used for coating shrimp.
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Adjust for spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For enhanced flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin Adds earthy notes.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For color and flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to preference.

For the Tacos

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas Can use either based on preference.
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage For crunch.
  • 1 medium avocado, sliced For creaminess.
  • as needed Lime wedges for serving Adds zesty flavor.
  • as needed Fresh cilantro for garnish Enhances presentation and flavor.

Preparation

  • Start by preheating your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated.
  • Place the shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • While the shrimp cooks, warm the tortillas in a skillet over medium heat or in the air fryer for a couple of minutes until soft.
  • Once done, remove the shrimp from the air fryer, and assemble your tacos by placing a few shrimp on each tortilla.
  • Top with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side for added flavor.

Notes

Customize your tacos with various toppings like salsa and chipotle crema. Leftovers can be stored separately in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
