Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture evenly.
  • Place the coated chicken breasts in a baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.

Baking

  • Bake the chicken for approximately 20 to 25 minutes until cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Top each chicken breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the dish sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For storing leftovers, place in an airtight container and refrigerate for 3 to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Consider garnishing with fresh basil before serving.
