Ingredients
  

For the Tortellini

  • 1 pound Italian sausage or your choice of sausage
  • 20 oz cheese tortellini 1 bag
  • 2 cups creamy tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt for seasoning
  • to taste Pepper for seasoning

  • Olive oil for cooking

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Heat a splash of olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Stir in the creamy tomato sauce and Italian seasoning, mixing well to combine.
  • Add the cheese tortellini, ensuring each piece is coated with the sauce and sausage mixture.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Serving

  • Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve the Baked Tortellini directly from the skillet, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

For added nutritional boost, consider mixing in sautéed vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for up to three months. Consider using different cheeses or sausage varieties for variation.
