Ingredients
  

Cookie Layer

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Brownie Layer

  • 1 cup brownie mix
  • 1 large egg (for brownie layer)
  • 1/4 cup water (for brownie layer)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  • Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until the dough just comes together.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the cookie dough.

Assembling and Baking

  • Pour the cookie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the brownie mix, one large egg, and 1/4 cup of water until smooth.
  • Carefully pour the brownie mixture over the cookie batter and swirl gently with a knife or toothpick.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow to cool in the pan before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares to serve.

Notes

For serving, enjoy warm or with vanilla ice cream. You can also drizzle with chocolate syrup or cover with powdered sugar.
