Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted and browned
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar, packed For sweetness and depth
  • 2 large eggs Large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Base ingredient
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder Leavening agent
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda Leavening agent
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Or choice of add-ins

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma (5 to 7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter and brown sugar. Mix well until smooth and glossy.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar-butter mixture and whisk until fully incorporated.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a rubber spatula until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips or any other preferred add-ins.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For variation, consider adding nuts, white chocolate, or spices like cinnamon for seasonal flavors. Allow to cool completely before cutting for the best texture. Can be stored at room temperature for 3-5 days or frozen for up to three months.
