  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cake mix (funfetti or yellow) Adds flavor and texture

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Must be at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs Should be at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients and cake mix to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Optional: Chill dough for thicker cookies.
