Preparation

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the crispy fried onions, sharp cheddar cheese, grated parmesan cheese, all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and milk to create the egg wash.
  • Take a small portion of the onion and cheese mixture, dip it into the egg wash, and then roll it back into the flour mixture. Repeat until all mixture is used.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until it shimmers.
  • Carefully drop the coated onion bites into the hot oil and fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dips.

Notes
