  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken Rotisserie chicken works great!
  • 1 package stuffing mix (6 oz package)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz can)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese Optional topping

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, diced onion, diced celery, and garlic powder. Season this mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

Prepare the Stuffing

  • In another bowl, mix the stuffing mix with chicken broth and milk. Stir until the stuffing is fully moistened and fluffy.

Combine Ingredients

  • Fold the chicken and vegetable mixture into the prepared stuffing. Add the cream of chicken soup to the mix, ensuring all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Bake

  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Pour the chicken and stuffing mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • If using cheddar cheese, sprinkle it generously over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes until heated through and the top is golden brown.

Serve

  • Remove the casserole from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Customize by adding more vegetables or trying different types of cheese. For a bit of heat, consider adding red pepper flakes.
