Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Sprinkle in the flour and garlic powder, stirring continuously to form a roux.
  • Gradually add in the chicken broth and milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
  • Continue whisking until the gravy thickens to the desired consistency, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Gently fold in the shredded chicken and optional vegetables. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Let the mixture simmer for a few more minutes to blend flavors.

Cooking

  • Prepare your biscuits according to package instructions or bake homemade ones until golden brown.
