Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even cooking.
  • Tear day-old croissants into bite-sized pieces and arrange in a greased baking dish.

Custard Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the custard mixture over the croissant pieces, ensuring each piece is saturated.

Add Chocolate & Bake

  • Sprinkle chocolate chunks over the croissant mixture.
  • Bake in preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and puffy.

Serving

  • Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
