Ingredients
  

For the Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Let it soften at room temperature
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Measure accurately to avoid dry cookies
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts or dried fruits Choose as desired

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy, using an electric mixer for ease.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk to the creamed butter and mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until evenly distributed.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits if using.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each scoop.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look set.
  • Remove cookies from the oven, let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve cookies fresh with a cup of coffee, milk, or tea. To store, place cookies in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer preservation.
