Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (such as penne or fusilli)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing garlic
  • 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream For creaminess
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds rich flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For flavor
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning
  • to taste Fresh parsley or basil for garnish For added freshness

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place a large pot on the stove over medium heat. Add the olive oil and allow it to warm up.
  • Once the oil is hot, sprinkle in the minced garlic. Sauté for about one minute until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.
  • Add the pasta directly into the pot along with the broth and heavy cream. Stir gently to ensure the pasta is submerged.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and stir occasionally.
  • Cook the pasta until al dente, about 10 to 12 minutes, allowing it to absorb the liquid.
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley or basil.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat on the stove or in the microwave with a splash of broth or cream.
