  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream Substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Use freshly grated for best flavor
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  • Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer.
  • Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Add the dried Italian herbs and mix well.
  • Incorporate the cooked rice into the sauce, stirring until everything is well combined and heated through, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, let it simmer for a few extra minutes. Adjust seasonings to suit your taste. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for up to three months.
