Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Ensure they are of even thickness.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For dredging the chicken.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk For soaking the chicken.
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs For crispiness.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For the breadcrumb mixture.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil For frying the chicken.

For the Assembly

  • 4 large sandwich rolls Split for assembly.
  • 1 cup Romaine lettuce Shredded.
  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing To drizzle over the lettuce.
  • 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese For topping.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter For toasting the rolls.
  • 1 clove minced garlic For mixing with butter.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pound the chicken breasts to even thickness.
  • In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • In a separate dish, pour the buttermilk.
  • In a third dish, combine panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.

Cooking

  • Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, then dip in buttermilk, and finally roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken for about 4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer the fried chicken to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter with minced garlic. Brush the mixture on the cut sides of the sandwich rolls.
  • Toast the rolls in the oven for about 5 minutes until golden brown.

Assembly

  • Place each crispy chicken breast on the bottom half of the toasted roll.
  • Top with shredded Romaine lettuce and drizzle with Caesar dressing.
  • Finish with shaved Parmesan cheese and cap with the top half of the roll.

Notes

Serve with fries or salad. For extra flavor, wrap sandwiches in parchment paper for picnics.
