Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef Lean or extra lean is preferred for less fat.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped Adds flavor to the stew.
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes Canned with juice.
  • 1 can (15 oz) mixed vegetables Includes peas, carrots, and corn.
  • 2 cups beef broth For a richer taste.

Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper To taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning For a blend of herbs.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat along with the chopped onion until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is translucent.
  • Drain any excess fat from the beef mixture.

Cooking

  • Transfer the beef and onion mixture to the slow cooker.
  • Add the diced tomatoes (with juices), mixed vegetables, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  • Cover and set your slow cooker to cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Once done, serve warm in bowls.

Notes

Add crusty bread or a side salad for a complete meal. Customize with different vegetables or adjust the seasoning to your preference.
