Preparation

  • Cook the ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned.
  • Drain excess fat and transfer the sausage to your crock pot.
  • Add diced potatoes and chopped onion to the crock pot.
  • Pour in the chicken broth.
  • Add minced garlic, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls and enjoy hot.
