Ingredients
  

For the chicken

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper Use freshly ground for better flavor
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

For the vegetables

  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine chicken pieces with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly and let marinate for about 20 minutes.
  • While the chicken is marinating, slice the bell pepper and onion, and mince the garlic and ginger.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is heated, add the marinated chicken and cook for approximately 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned and fully cooked.
  • Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, minced garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Serving

  • Serve the Easy Black Pepper Chicken over cooked rice.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs like cilantro or green onions, and optionally sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container; can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat gently with a splash of water or soy sauce to retain moisture.
