  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing included)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup pecans, chopped (optional) Optional for added crunch and flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons milk For icing preparation.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For icing preparation.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For icing preparation.
  • Purple, green, and yellow sprinkles or edible decorations For decoration.
  • A small plastic baby or trinket (optional) Optional hidden surprise.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  • Take the cinnamon rolls and unroll each one. Spread a small amount of softened butter on each strip, then sprinkle the sugar mixture evenly over the butter.
  • If using, add chopped pecans on top of the sugar mixture for extra flavor and crunch.
  • Roll each strip back up tightly, and then shape them into a ring on a greased baking sheet, pinching the ends together to seal.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and cooked through.

Icing and Decoration

  • While the cake bakes, prepare the icing by mixing the included icing packets with the milk and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  • Once baked, allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling the icing over the top.
  • Sprinkle the colored decorations over the icing while it is still wet.
  • If you have a plastic baby or trinket, hide it in the cake or place it on top as a fun surprise for later!

Notes

For best results, allow the dough to rest after baking. Add a few drops of almond extract to the icing for an unexpected twist. Customize fillings as desired.
