  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk or a non-dairy alternative
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add the milk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Stir until well combined.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed in the dough.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are best served warm with a glass of milk or coffee. Consider adding mix-ins like nuts or dried fruits for variations.
