Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup eggnog
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or chocolate of choice

Optional

  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until the mix becomes light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the eggnog and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips gently.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look set. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before baking to prevent spreading. Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
