Shrimp Preparation

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh, high-quality shrimp for the best flavor.

Breading Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil as needed for frying Ensure the oil is hot for best results.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons sriracha Adjust to taste for spice.
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

Garnish

  • to taste Green onions, finely chopped For garnish.

Preparation

  • Begin by peeling and deveining the shrimp if not already done. Rinse under cold water and set aside.
  • Create a breading station with three dishes: one for flour, one for the beaten egg, and another for breadcrumbs.

Breading

  • Coat each shrimp by first dipping into the flour, then the egg, and finally rolling in breadcrumbs.

Frying

  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Check oil readiness with a piece of bread or breadcrumb.
  • Fry the breaded shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Place the cooked shrimp on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Making the Sauce

  • Mix sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and soy sauce in a bowl while the shrimp fry.

Toss and Serve

  • Transfer the warm shrimp to a large bowl and toss with the sauce until well-coated.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

For serving, pair with vegetable sticks or lime wedges. Can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.
