  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder High-quality recommended
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • If desired, fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Baking

  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cooling

  • Allow brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For serving, enjoy with ice cream, drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce, and dust with powdered sugar for a special touch. Store in an airtight container for freshness.
