  • 3 pieces ripe avocados Choose avocados that yield slightly to pressure.
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 lime juiced Adds tang and helps prevent browning.
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced Use sparingly to avoid overpowering the guacamole.
  • 1 piece jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped Optional, adjust for desired spice level.

  • to taste fresh cilantro, chopped Optional, add for extra flavor.

Preparation

  • Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  • Mash the avocado using a fork or a potato masher until you reach your desired level of creaminess.
  • Add the finely chopped onion, diced tomatoes, lime juice, minced garlic, and jalapeño (if using) to the bowl.
  • Season with salt according to your taste.
  • Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined.
  • If you’re using cilantro, add it now and mix lightly.
  • Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Storage

  • Transfer the guacamole to an airtight container and smooth the top. Cover with plastic wrap touching the surface to minimize air exposure.

Notes

To maintain freshness, consume guacamole immediately or store it properly. Experiment with different variations by adding fruits like mango or spices like cumin.
