Ingredients
  

Chicken and Coating

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Choose high-quality chicken breasts for best results.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free) Use your preferred type of breadcrumbs.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated is best for flavor.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade; adjust according to taste.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For topping.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray For coating the chicken.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and lightly spray each with olive oil.
  • Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to ensure an even coating.

Cooking

  • Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket without touching.
  • Air fry the chicken for about 10 minutes.
  • Carefully flip the chicken and spoon marinara sauce over each piece, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Continue cooking for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Serving

  • Remove from the air fryer and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Serve with extra marinara, over pasta, with a side salad, or in a sandwich. Allow chicken to rest after cooking for improved tenderness.
