  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Gives a smoky flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust based on your heat preference.
  • ½ teaspoon salt To taste.
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs Beaten, used for coating.
  • 2 tablespoons milk Helps the flour stick to the shrimp.

Hot Honey Sauce Ingredients

  • ½ cup honey Main ingredient for sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar For acidity.
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes Enhances the heat.

Instructions
 

Prepare Hot Honey Sauce

  • In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Place over medium heat and stir until melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs with milk.

Fry the Shrimp

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and return to the flour mixture for even coating.
  • Carefully place shrimp in hot oil a few at a time and fry for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Coat and Serve

  • Toss the fried shrimp in the hot honey sauce until fully coated. Serve immediately with extra sauce on the side.

Notes

Serve with sides like coleslaw or rice for a complete meal. Adjust the heat level in the sauce by varying the cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
