Instructions
 

Cooking the Chicken

  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

Adding Flavors

  • While the chicken cooks, chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  • After flipping the chicken, add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until onions are translucent.

Building the Sauce

  • Carefully pour the Irish whiskey into the skillet, ensuring it encompasses the chicken and onions. Allow it to simmer gently.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and add the teaspoon of thyme. Stir well and let it simmer for about 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.

Serving

  • Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
  • Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables, and fresh bread to soak up the sauce.
