  • 8 ounces pasta (your choice, like penne or spaghetti)
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 2 medium sweet peppers, sliced (mix of colors for a festive touch)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 14.5 ounces crushed tomatoes (1 can)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs (a blend of basil, oregano, and thyme)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add crumbled Italian sausage and cook until golden-brown, stirring occasionally.
  • Add sliced sweet peppers, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes and sprinkle with Italian herbs. Let it simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine everything well.

Notes

Serve warm, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil. Pair with a green salad or garlic toast.
