  • 1 cup chicken broth Use low-sodium for a healthier option.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a lighter version, consider alternatives.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Or any other cheese of your preference.

Flavoring Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Brown the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, breaking it into smaller pieces.
  • Drain any excess fat and transfer the sausage to a slow cooker.
  • Add the cheese tortellini, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, chopped onion, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.
  • Stir to combine ingredients well.

Cooking

  • Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 4-5 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Continue to cook until cheese is melted and sauce is creamy.

Serving

  • Scoop into bowls or plates and garnish with parsley or extra cheese if desired.
  • Serve with garlic bread or a green salad.

Notes
