Ingredients
  

For the dough

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry (thawed)

For the filling

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened) Ensure it is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (or Monterey Jack)
  • ½ cup Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled) Adjust quantity based on desired heat level.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash) Beaten before applying to the twists.

Dipping sauces

  • Ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard Use as needed for serving.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lightly flour a clean countertop or kitchen surface and unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet. Roll it out gently to smooth any creases.
  • Slice the pastry into rectangles, around 2 inches wide and 4 inches long.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, jalapenos, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth and fully combined.

Assembling the Twists

  • Take a rectangle of puff pastry and place a generous scoop of the cheese mixture in the center. Fold the edges over the filling and twist the rectangle into a spiral shape.
  • Place the twist on your prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pastry and filling.
  • Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the egg wash over the tops of the twists.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the twists ahead of time or freeze them for later baking. Consider garnishing with fresh herbs before serving for added color.
