Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced potatoes and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well to coat all the ingredients.
  • Gradually pour in the chicken broth while stirring constantly to ensure a smooth texture.
  • Bring the soup to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream to enhance the richness of the soup.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

Serve with warm crusty bread or a side salad. Optional toppings include shredded cheese, croutons, or sour cream.
