  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts Ensure even thickness for even cooking.
  • 1 cup bread crumbs Use seasoned breadcrumbs for added flavor.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Reserve half for coating.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Mixed with Parmesan for topping.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour For dredging the chicken.
  • 2 large eggs Beaten with milk.
  • 1/4 cup milk Used to mix with eggs.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For frying the chicken.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In one bowl, combine the bread crumbs, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  • In a second bowl, beat together the eggs and milk until well blended.
  • In a third dish, pour in the all-purpose flour.

Cooking

  • Coat each chicken breast in the flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the breaded chicken breasts for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix the remaining Parmesan cheese, mozzarella, and garlic. Sprinkle this mixture over the chicken.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until cooked through (165°F / 74°C).
  • Let the chicken cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs to the breadcrumb mixture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
