  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 can 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing the onion.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Adds creaminess to the sauce.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and ground beef, breaking apart the beef as it browns, cooking for 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain any excess fat if necessary, then stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  • Add the ravioli and cook according to package instructions, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the ravioli is cooked, reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream.
  • Stir until well mixed and heated through.
  • Serve hot and garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For leftovers, store in an airtight container and refrigerate for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat on the stove or microwave, adding a splash of beef broth or cream if necessary. For variations, consider using different sauces or adding vegetables like spinach or bell peppers.
