  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice Use freshly squeezed juice for best flavor.
  • Zest of 2 oranges Adds vibrant flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.

Preparation

  • Place the softened butter in a large mixing bowl and beat it with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth.
  • Gradually add in the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Pour in the fresh orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
  • Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness or orange flavor as needed, adding more orange juice if too thick.
  • Use the frosting immediately or store it for later use.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Re-whip before use if stored.
