Sauces and Oils

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Use low-sodium if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Optional, adds depth to the flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For a nutty flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For frying.

Seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust to your preference.

Preparation

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced chicken and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Introduce the minced garlic and sliced onion to the pan and cook until the onion turns translucent.
  • Add the mixed vegetables and stir until tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well to coat the ingredients.
  • Toss in the cooked chow mein noodles and stir to combine.
  • Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh green onions.

Notes

Prep your ingredients ahead of time for faster cooking. This dish can also be customized with other proteins like shrimp or tofu.
