Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 packages 2 (3 oz) packages ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic Fresh garlic provides better flavor.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons sriracha sauce Adjust to taste for spiciness.

Instructions

Cooking the Noodles

  • Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions (about 3-5 minutes). Drain the noodles and set aside.

Making the Garlic Sauce

  • In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic.
  • Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sriracha to the skillet. Stir and allow to bubble slightly to dissolve the sugar.

Combining

  • Toss the drained noodles into the skillet with the sauce. Mix gently to coat the noodles evenly.
  • If noodles have cooled, warm everything through on low heat for about a minute.

Serving

  • Serve the noodles in bowls, garnished with sliced green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For added variety, consider adding sautéed vegetables like bell peppers or protein such as grilled chicken or tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
