  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Pour in the melted butter and mix thoroughly.
  • Add the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle over the top of the batter.
  • Carefully pour one cup of water over the top without stirring.
  • Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Serving

  • Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve warm slices with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a dusting of cinnamon or powdered sugar.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days. You can rewarm slices in the microwave or the oven. Consider adding a drizzle of caramel sauce or chopped nuts for additional flavor.
