  • 1 cup Powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting For a snowy appearance and added sweetness.

  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour Do not pack the flour into the measuring cup.
  • 1 cup Finely chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans) Can substitute with other nuts or chocolate.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with 1 cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt, then gradually add to the butter mixture, blending until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the finely chopped nuts until evenly distributed.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until bottoms start to turn golden.
  • Remove from oven and cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then roll in additional powdered sugar while still warm.
  • Allow to cool completely, then roll in powdered sugar again for an extra snowy finish.

Notes

For optimal freshness, store cookies in an airtight container. They can be frozen for long-term storage.
