Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and light in color.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the mixture, beating until well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  • Drop generous spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still appear soft.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For elevated flavor, sprinkle a bit of sea salt on top before cooling. Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
