  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Choose high-quality, organic or free-range for best flavor.
  • 1 cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For searing the chicken.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (your choice) Cheddar or mozzarella recommended.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix the sour cream and onion soup mix until smooth. This will be your sauce.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Searing

  • Add the chicken to the skillet and sear for about 4–5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Baking

  • Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and pour the sour cream mixture evenly over it.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the sour cream mixture.
  • Bake the chicken for 25–30 minutes or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Serve with fluffy mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a side salad. For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs or spices.
